Description
Home Farmhouse is a building of group value, dated 1631 and 1685. It is constructed of coursed ironstone rubble with a plain tile roof, brick end stacks (the one to the left sits on a stone base), and has a 4-unit plan. The farmhouse is two storeys and an attic, with a 5-window front. A central glazed door is within a 20th-century gabled porch. A 3-light casement window is positioned above a timber lintel, and similar windows are located on the ground and first floors to the right. Between the central and right first-floor windows is a blocked window and a datestone with a hood mould inscribed “ANNO/1631”. To the left of the door is a straight joint and a 2-light casement window on the ground floor, also featuring a timber lintel, and a datestone above inscribed "H/RD/1685". Above this stone is a small one-light window. Further to the left are three 3-light casement windows on both the ground and first floors, all with timber lintels, the first-floor window having a hood mould. A small, one-light, leaded window with a double-chamfered stone surround and a hood mould sits on the far left first floor. A single-storey extension from the 20th century is located to the left of the main structure. Brick eaves and stone coped gables with kneelers are present. The interior features a stone-flagged floor, stop-chamfered spine beams with run-out stops, two fireplaces with ogee-stop-chamfered bressumers, and a collar truss roof.
