Description

This is a late 17th-century house located in Badby. It is constructed of coursed squared ironstone with an asbestos tile roof, brick ridge and end stacks (the stack to the ridge has a stone base). The house originally comprised two units. It has two storeys and an attic, with a two-window front. A 20th-century door is located to the far right, set within a two-storey brick addition built in the early 19th century; a 16-pane sash window is above this addition. A 2-light casement window now occupies the position of the original entrance on the left side of the door. The ground floor has 3-light casement windows, while the ground and first floors feature 2-light chamfered mullion windows; a similar window is present on the first floor to the rear, along with a 16-pane sash window on the ground floor rear. A single-storey rear extension is also present. The interior features bar-stop-chamfered spine beams and an open fireplace with a segmental arched bressumer, also with bar-stop-chamfered details. There are old plank doors, one of which has a chamfered wooden surround. The roof is supported by collar trusses.
