Description
The Manor House is a late 17th-century house located on the east side of Badby Green. It is constructed of coursed squared ironstone and features plain tile roofs, with stone ridge and end stacks, the ridge stack having brick flues. The building is designed in an L-plan, consisting of two storeys and an attic, and has a three-window range. The principal front facing the street includes a small central two-light casement window with a timber lintel, flanked by canted bay windows that have 12-pane sashes at the front and 8 panes on the sides, along with a two-light casement window on the far left. To the left end, there is a lower one-storey-and-attic outhouse. The house displays brick nogged eaves, quoins, and stone coped gables with kneelers, and the range has a shallow concave curve. Access to the rear is provided by a wing that projects to the rear left, which includes a hipped dormer and various two- and three-light casement windows. Inside, the house features stone flagged floors, ogee-stop-chamfered spine beams, an open fireplace with a chamfered bressumer, and an 18th-century fitted cupboard in the dining room with shaped shelves.
