Description
Jasmine Cottage is a house dated 1697, constructed from coursed squared ironstone with a corrugated iron roof that has replaced the original thatch. It features a brick ridge and end stacks and follows a 3-unit lobby entry plan. The building is two storeys high with an attic.
The entrance is a 6-panel part-glazed door located just to the left of centre, topped with a 20th-century gabled hood. Above the door is a datestone inscribed with P/WS/AD/1697. To the left of the door is a 3-light casement window that has replaced two older windows, with their lintels still visible above. To the right of the door is a 2-light casement window and another 6-panel part-glazed door with a 20th-century hood at the far right. The first floor features 2-light casements, and all windows and doors have timber lintels.
The gables are stone coped with kneelers, and there is a later addition of a brick stack to the right against the gable end wall. At the rear, there is a single-storey brick extension. Inside, the cottage has ogee-stop-chamfered spine beams, two open fireplaces with stop-chamfered bressumers, a winder stair, and a collar truss roof.
