Description

Park View is a house of 1674, located on the west side of The Green in Badby. It is constructed of coursed squared ironstone with a plain tile roof and brick end stacks on stone bases. The house has a 2-unit plan, two storeys and an attic, and a 2-window front. A 19th-century central door, consisting of seven panels, is set within a 19th-century gabled trellis porch. A datestone above the door is inscribed "SR/1674". There are three-light casement windows with stone jambs, wooden lintels, and hood moulds on either side of the door. Similar, smaller three-light casement windows are located on the first floor. The corners of the house are quoined. The gables are stone-coped with kneelers. Inside, the house contains a fine set of moulded spine beams with ogee stops and a matching bressumer to an open fireplace which includes a bread oven.
