Description
Greystones is a house dated 1706, constructed from coursed squared ironstone with a slate mansard roof and stone end stacks. It features a three-unit plan, two storeys, and an attic, with a three-window range. The central entrance has a part-glazed door with an overlight, and there are 16-pane sash windows throughout the building. Both the door and windows are topped with stone lintels and keyblocks. A datestone between the central and right first-floor windows is inscribed with "ISM/1706" and has a laurel wreath below the date. The mansard roof includes three dormers, and the gables are stone coped. There is a rebuilt one-and-a-half-storey extension to the right with a tile roof, as well as a 20th-century single-storey rear extension. Inside, the house features ogee-stop-chamfered spine beams, a dog leg staircase leading from the ground floor to the attic with barley sugar balusters, and one room that has fielded panelling.
