Description

This is a range of cottages, now divided into two dwellings, Appletree Cottage and Pond Cottage. The original structure dates to the 17th century, although it has undergone 20th-century restoration, alterations, and extensions. The cottages have rendered walls and a tiled roof. They are timber-framed, with a projecting wing at the south end, and feature an irregular arrangement of windows and a storey with an attic. The roof is ½-hipped with four 20th-century dormers. The timber framing is exposed in the upper wall, with plastered infill and other walling. The lower wall is largely concealed by projecting extensions, and a section has been removed to create a passageway. The windows are casements, and one is an oriel. There are 20th-century entrances, one within a porch (at Appletree Cottage) and the other in the passageway.
