Description

Banktree Cottages is a pair of cottages dating from the 17th century and late 18th century, with 20th-century extensions. The building is timber-framed, featuring some later cladding and a thatched roof. It has one storey and an attic, with irregular window arrangements. The roof is whipped and includes eyebrow dormers. The exposed frame has painted brick infill, and part of the rear wall showcases flint panels within the brickwork, featuring cambered openings. The north wing, added in the 20th century, is made of painted brickwork. The cottages have casement windows, with a plain 19th-century door on one and a porch on the other.
