Description
The Orchard is a pair of cottages, now combined into one, dating from the 17th century or early 18th century. The structure is timber framed with plastered brick infill and features a thatched roof with brick ridge and end chimneys. It has a three-unit plan and is one storey high with an attic, which includes three swept dormers. The central door is from the 20th century, and there is a late 19th-century open timber porch. The ground floor has two paired windows and one single window, all of which are 20th-century casements. The right gable wall has been partly rebuilt in brick, and there is exposed framing at the rear. Inside, some framing is also exposed, and there is a 19th-century brick and tile addition on the left.
