Description
Old Mudwalls Cottage is a Grade II listed cottage, originally built in the 17th century with an addition from the 18th century on the right. The cottage features a timber frame with lath and plaster infill, and the addition has thin framing. It has a thatched roof and a brick ridge chimney. The layout consists of a two-unit plan that has been extended to a three-unit plan. The building is one storey with an attic, which includes two small swept dormers. The entrance is located at the right end and features a 20th-century door within a simple 19th-century chamfered wood surround. There are four 19th-century casement windows on the ground floor, and the exposed framing is visible on the end and rear of the cottage.
Inside, there are two winder staircases and two ceiling beams that have simple stop chamfers. A late 20th-century addition on the left has sham framing made of cement and includes another door.
