Description
73 and 74 Wood Bevington are a pair of cottages dating from the 17th century or early 18th century. They are constructed with a timber frame and lath and plaster infill, and they have a late 20th-century tile roof that replaced a former thatched roof, featuring brick ridge and end chimneys. The cottages have a three-unit plan, are one storey high with an attic, and have a two-window range. The central entrance door is from the 19th century, while the ground floor features three 20th-century casement windows. There are dormers with raking roofs and 19th-century casement windows. The entrance to No. 74 is located on the right return side. The interior of No. 73 has been partly rearranged and includes an open fireplace with a bressumer that is hidden by a shelf. It is said to have winder stairs, and there are 20th-century additions to the rear.
