Description
South Lodge is a toll house built in 1826, constructed from whitewashed brick with a slate hipped roof featuring eaves brackets and a central brick chimney. The building has a two-unit plan with a canted end facing the road and is a single storey high. There are two windows on the canted sides, with the center side being blank. The entrance is located on the left return side and has a late 20th-century door. The front and side windows are original segmental arched casements with glazing bars. The interior has not been inspected, and there is a late 20th-century addition at the rear. The lodge is situated in a prominent position at a road junction.
