Description

Turnpike Cottages are a pair of cottages dating from the 17th century. They are timber framed with whitewashed brick infill and feature thatched roofs, with a brick external stack at each end. Each cottage has a one-unit plan and is one storey high with an attic that includes two swept dormers. The cottages have 19th-century plank doors, with No. 80 having a 19th-century porch and the entrance to No. 79 located on the left side. There are 19th and 20th-century metal casements. Each end has a low single storey addition, and there is a 19th-century brick wing at the rear. The interior has not been inspected.
