Description
Limit Cottages, Nos. 1 and 2, are a pair of cottages dating from the late 18th century. They feature mainly stone walls and a tile roof. The building is a rectangular block with a small lower west wing at the south end. The front (east) elevation has two storeys, with three windows on the upper floor and two on the lower. The roof is half-hipped at the south end, topped with a tile-hung gable above a brick dentil band. The walls are constructed of coursed chalkstone with brick dressings, including quoins, cambered arches, and a plinth. The wing has brick-nogged framing on its north side but is mostly faced with brickwork in Flemish bond, with some sections of wall repaired in brickwork. The windows are casements, and the doorways are plain.
