Description

Nos. 33 and 34 on Winchester Road are a pair of cottages dating from the late 18th century. They feature a mix of wall finishes and a thatched roof, with one storey and an attic, and three windows. The cottages have a half-hipped roof, with eaves raised above the upper windows. The west gable of No. 34 is tile-hung and decorated with scalloped bands. Its walls are made of a mix of brick and flint, with brick quoins, and include sections of red brickwork in Flemish bond with blue headers. The ground floor openings are cambered, and there is an attached tapered stack at the west gable, which has flint panels. No. 33 has been rendered. Both cottages have casement windows and plain doorways.
