Description

The Post Office is a house and shop located on Winchester Road in Wherwell. It features rendered walls and a slate roof. The main block is taller and two storeys high, set back with a gable. The shop unit, which is lower and also two storeys, extends forward and has a hipped roof. The gable is decorated with a bargeboard and includes a quatrefoil ornament. The ground floor has a forward extension with a lower roof. The building has a mix of casement and sash windows. The shopfront is adorned with a cornice and frieze, and pilasters frame the window and doorway. This building is included for its group value.
