Description

Nos. 17 and 18 on Winchester Road are a pair of houses dating from the 17th century, with some minor additions made in the 20th century. They have a timber-framed structure topped with a thatched roof. The houses are one storey and an attic high, featuring three windows above five. The roof has a nipped design and is lower on the east side, with a catslide at the rear above later extensions. There are splayed openings above the dormers, with cills at eaves level. The exposed frame includes plaster infilling, and there is a plinth that deepens as the ground slopes down on the west side. The entrances are located at the rear.
