Description
Andover Lodge is a cottage ornée located at the entrance to the driveway of the Priory, dating from around 1830. It features rendered walls and a thatched roof. The building is one storey with an attic, presenting a gable to the front (north-west) and rear, with one window on each gable. The longer side facing the driveway has a dormer above two windows and a central entrance. The low-pitched roof has overhanging eaves of about four feet, with a boarded soffit supported by four beam brackets with moulded ends. The purlins at the gable are braced by carved brackets, and there is one eyebrow dormer on the long side. The plain walls have a plinth and a hoodmould above the front attic window. The windows feature large diagonal bars, with one being a bay supported on carved brackets. The plain doorway, accessed by steps, has a half-glazed door with a similar diagonal design.
