Description

Forge Cottage and Toney's Cottage are two cottages, originally five, that form a narrow row along the curving street of Winchester Road in Wherwell. They mainly date from the 18th century and feature a plaster and thatch exterior. The buildings are one storey with an attic and have a total of seven windows above nine, which are irregularly spaced. The roofs vary in height and have eyebrow dormers of different sizes and shapes. The walls are plain, with one cambered opening and a plinth. The cottages have casement windows and boarded doors set in plain openings.
