Description

Church Lane Cottages are three cottages that date from the 16th century or earlier, with alterations from the 18th century. They are constructed from timber framing and plaster, with the front made of gault brick. The cottages have a red plain tiled, half hipped roof and are one storey with attics.

Cottages 2 and 3, which face Ongar Road, feature two gabled dormers, a two-window range of small paned casements, and 20th-century part glazed doors. Cottage 1, which faces Church Lane, has a combination of render and weatherboard, a three-window range of small paned casements, a red tiled porch supported by wooden brackets, and a 20th-century part glazed door. There are three gault brick chimney stacks. Inside, there are 18th-century doors and other features from the same period.
