Description

23 and 24 Mutton Lane are two cottages dating from the 16th century, with an extension added in the 18th century on the right side. The cottages are timber framed and plastered, with red brick gable ends and a thatched roof. They are single storey with an attic. The windows are 20th century casements, and there are two boarded doors. The cottages feature three gabled dormers with plain tiled roofs and gable end stacks. Inside, the two 16th-century ground floor rooms have exposed joists and are connected by an original arched doorway; however, the original stairs have been removed.
