Description
Rose Farmhouse is an early 16th-century farmhouse with a later 16th-century cross wing and staircase addition to the rear, forming a T-shaped plan. The main range is timber-framed and plastered, with a plaintiled roof, while the rear of the main range is pantiled. It is two storeys high, with an attic to the cross wing. The farmhouse has mid-20th century large-pane casement windows. A gabled porch, also from the mid-20th century, is located in the angle between the cross wing and main range, and there is a mid-20th century six-panel door. The main range features an internal stack and a small gable end stack on the right-hand side. The interior of the cross wing is notable for its very closely-spaced timbering and several original arched doorways, with their original doors. The main range also retains some good exposed timbering and 16th-century oak panelling on the ground floor.
