Description
The laboratories located in the grounds of the research centre to the northwest of Boarded Barns Farmhouse date from the 18th century to the early 19th century. This stable block is constructed with a timber frame and is weatherboarded. The return faces feature vertical weatherboarding and it has a hipped red pantile roof. There are four original stable doors and three matching doors, along with some original ironmongery. The building has a range of nine windows and retains some original internal boarding. This structure is part of the 18th and 19th-century complex, and very few buildings of this type remain in Essex.
