Description

Forge Cottage and The Cottage are a pair of cottages, likely built in the 18th century. They feature stone walls with brick dressings around the doors and windows, thatched roofs, and brick stacks topped with ornamental caps. The cottages are one storey with attics.

No. 30, The Cottage, has a recent extension at the rear with a new entrance, while the original entrance in the front wall has been replaced by a window. The ground floor includes two horizontally sliding sash windows with glazing bars, and the attic has two half-dormers with similar sash windows. There is a single-storey thatched extension on the east side. The main room on the ground floor has a large open fireplace with a bread oven.

No. 31, Forge Cottage, has a single-storey thatched outbuilding on the west side, which is now used as a garage. It features a ledged entrance door. The ground floor has three horizontally sliding sash windows with glazing bars, and the attic includes three half-dormers with similar windows.
