Description
Nos. 14 and 16 on Oxford Road are a pair of houses dating from the late 17th century. They are constructed of rubble with some brick dressings and feature a 20th-century plain tile roof with a brick ridge stack. The houses have a three-unit plan with a cross passage and are one storey plus attics. There are two doors with a 2-light casement window between them, all positioned under timber lintels, along with two 3-light half-dormers. A renewed datestone on the right gable indicates the year '1678'. Inside, there is a cellar beneath the left bay, an open fireplace, a staircase with winders, and moulded plank-and-vee doors on the first floor. The interior also includes two heavy trusses. The house has since been subdivided.
