Description
Rectory Cottage is a house dating from the late 18th century to early 19th century. It is constructed of coursed limestone rubble with squared quoins and brick dressings, topped with an old plain-tile roof featuring a brick gable stack. The building is a single unit with a one-bay wing at the rear and stands two storeys high.
The front has a three-light casement window with board shutters and a two-light casement window above it. There is a blocked entrance to the left gable, along with a similar window and another entrance leading to the rear wing. All openings are framed with brick quoins and segmental arches, and the windows are fitted with leaded lights. A plaster eaves cove runs continuously with the stone cove of the adjacent No. 2. The rear wing has been extended further. The interior has not been inspected. The building is included for its group value.
