Description
The Plough is a public house built in the mid-18th century. It features a construction of limestone rubble with brick dressings and has an old plain-tile roof with brick gable stacks. The building has a double-depth plan and stands two storeys tall with attics. The front is symmetrical with three windows, a central 20th-century panelled door beneath a segmental-roofed hood, and flanked by three-light casements with timber lintels. Above, there are similar casements and a two-light window in between. The roof has two hipped dormers. The brickwork includes flared headers in five-course quoins around all openings and returns, below the eaves, in a moulded storey-band, and in the moulded weathering to the plinth. There are one-storey 20th-century extensions on both the right and left sides.
