Description
Nos. 2, 3/4, and 5 Caycroft Nook are a pair of early 19th century cottages, with a slightly overbuilt single-cell late 18th century cottage among them. To the west end is another early 19th century cottage (No. 2) that is positioned at right angles. The buildings are constructed of hammer-dressed stone, with watershot stone on No. 5, and feature a stone slate roof. They are two storeys high.
No. 2 has a coped gable that faces forward and a three-light flat-faced mullioned window with a projecting sill on each floor. There is a lateral stack on the left-hand return wall, and a doorway located on the right-hand return wall at the junction with Nos. 3/4. The latter has paired doorways, one of which is blocked and converted into a window, along with three-light windows on either side and four-light windows above on the first floor. Both cottages have gable stacks.
No. 5 features quoins, a doorway with tie-stone jambs, and a four-light chamfered mullioned window on each floor, which has been altered to two wide lights. It also has a gable stack with a cornice.
