Description

This is a house located at 24 Kilsby Road, with a datestone indicating it was built in 1696 by T.E. It was remodelled around 1840. The structure features coursed ironstone and limestone rubble with a slate roof and a brick stack positioned to the right of the center. The house is two storeys high and has one bay. The central doorway is framed in wood and includes panelled pilasters, roundel capitals, a frieze with dentil mouldings, and a six-panel door with an overlight above it. On either side of the doorway are 16-pane sash windows with ashlar frames, and there is a six-pane sash window in the center of the first floor. The gable ends are coped. The interior has not been inspected. There is an extension to the left that dates from the 18th or 19th century. The facade has some cob construction, while the side and rear have been rebuilt in brick and covered with a corrugated asbestos roof. This extension is one storey high and has one bay, featuring a 20th-century three-light casement window in a rendered surround.
