Description
This is a house located at 1 Freemans Lane, with a datestone indicating it was built in 1681, although it has been altered in the 19th and 20th centuries. The building is constructed from squared coursed limestone and features both slate and pantile roofs. Originally, it had a three-unit plan and stands two storeys tall with three bays.
On the first floor, there is a two-window range of casements with glazing bars, all set under wooden lintels. The ground floor has a three-window range, featuring two casements on the left and right, also under wooden lintels, with a central three-light stone mullion window. The left bay is angled in relation to the main structure. There are truncated ashlar stacks at the ridge and end of the building. A datestone is positioned on the quoin to the left.
A central 20th-century single-storey brick extension, which is one unit, now serves as the entrance to the house. To the left, there is a 19th-century outbuilding with a pantile roof, which has been incorporated into the house. The interior has not been inspected.
