Description

Debdale Cottage is a house dating to 1749, with a 20th-century restoration. It is constructed of squared coursed limestone, banded with ironstone. The roof is covered with plain tiles. Originally a two-unit plan, the house has a two-storey, two-window front with plain and tripartite sash windows, some of which have been renewed, all set beneath wooden lintels. Brick stacks are located at the ends of the building. A former outbuilding attached to the right now forms part of the house and features similar windows. The rear elevation is similar, with an entrance on the left. The interior, which has not been inspected, retains remains of an open fireplace with a bressumer. The building is included on the list for its group value.
