Description

Lane End Cottage is a house dating from the mid-18th century, with alterations made in the 20th century. It is constructed of squared limestone rubble with a pantile roof and brick stacks. The original plan comprised three rooms, incorporating a hearth passage and an outshut which was raised at a later date. The front of the house has two storeys and three windows. A 20th-century board door is located at the centre left. All windows are 2-light small-pane casements with renewed stone sills, and have painted timber lintels above them. A stack is located at each end, and one in the centre left. The building is included on the list for its group value.
