Description
Ashgill is a house dating from the mid-18th century, with later alterations. It is constructed from squared limestone and features a brick extension, topped with a pantile roof and brick stacks, one of which has been rebuilt. The house has a central-entry plan with a rear access passage to the left and a rear extension added. It is two stories high with a two-window front. The entrance, located to the right of center, consists of a board door with a glass panel, while there is another board door to the left leading to the rear access passage. Throughout the building, there are two-light small-pane horizontal sliding sashes, and all ground floor openings have thin timber lintels. The left gable is coped and features a shaped kneeler, with end stacks at either side.
