Description

Linton Cottage and Lyland are a pair of cottages dating from the late 18th century, likely with earlier origins. They are constructed from hammer-dressed sandstone on a plinth, topped with a pantile roof and featuring brick stacks. The cottages are two stories high with a two-window front. There are central paired doors, with a plank door on the left and a 20th-century replacement on the right. Each end has 16-pane sash windows, while the first floor has squat 12-pane sash windows. All windows have painted stone sills and heavy chiselled lintels above. There are end stacks. This listing is included for its group value.
