Description
The Owlets is a house and shop, now functioning solely as a house, dating from the late 18th century, with a 19th-century shopfront and remodelled in the 20th century. It is constructed from hammered sandstone and features a pantile roof with a brick stack. The building is two storeys high and has a two-window front.
The left side has a pilastered shopfront with a bracketed entablature and cornice, which includes a four-panel door with an overlight and a shop window that has a recessed panelled shutter. To the right of the shopfront, there is a plank door, and a two-light, small-pane horizontal sliding sash window is positioned at the end. The first floor has two similar windows. All house windows have painted stone sills, and the ground floor openings feature painted, grooved lintels. The building has a stepped eaves course and a central stack.
