Description
Three houses, dating from the late 17th and early 18th centuries, are located on Meadow Lane. They are constructed of regular coursed limestone with a thatched roof. Each house has a one- or two-unit plan, and are single-storey with attics. The front elevation features a symmetrical four-window range of casement windows, some with glazing bars, all set beneath wooden lintels. Matching casement windows are found within eyebrow dormers in the attic. A fire window is centrally positioned. A pair of plank doors are located to the left of the centre of the building, also beneath wooden lintels. The houses have ashlar gable parapets, with brick and stone stacks positioned along the ridge and at the ends. A plank door is set within the gable end of number 1. A 19th-century lean-to extension has been added to the rear. The interior of number 3 contains a winder staircase and shows evidence of a raised cruck roof structure. Number 2 is said to have an open fireplace.
