Description
Nos. 10 and 12 Latham Street is a house that has been converted into two dwellings, dating from the late 17th century. It is constructed of squared coursed limestone and limestone ashlar, topped with Collyweston slate and concrete tile roofs. The building has a three-unit layout, with a cross wing that creates an L-shaped plan. It stands two storeys tall and features a three-window range, with the gabled cross wing projecting forward to the right.
The gable includes two 19th-century casement windows beneath wooden lintels. The other windows are 20th-century casements with glazing bars, also under wooden lintels. On the first floor, two windows to the left are positioned beneath Lincolnshire eaves dormers. There is a 20th-century door in the center, which is also under a wooden lintel, and a four-panel door in the return wall of the cross wing, similarly under a wooden lintel.
The building retains remnants of a chamfered plinth and has ashlar gable parapets. There are ashlar stacks with rebuilt tops located at the ridge and the end of the cross wing. The left wall of the cross wing features a three-light stone mullion window on the first floor, also under a Lincolnshire dormer. Inside No. 12, there are spine beams and a large central stack.
