Description
Fotheringhay House is a house dating from the late 17th century and the 19th century. It is constructed of limestone ashlar and brick, topped with a Welsh slate roof. The building originally had a three-unit plan and consists of two storeys. The front features a three-window range of three-light stone mullion windows on the first floor, which are set in gabled eaves dormers that have ashlar parapets and kneelers. The ground floor windows are 19th-century casements; the ones on the left have 19th-century moulded stone surrounds, while the window on the right has a stone lintel. There is a central, recessed 20th-century door with a concrete lintel. The house has a chamfered plinth and ashlar gable parapets and kneelers, along with ashlar ridge and end stacks that feature moulded cornices. At the rear, there is a 19th-century brick extension.
