Description

This is a milepost located approximately 100 yards southeast of Lode House, dating from the early 19th century. It is made of cast iron and features raised lettering. The milepost has a triangular section with a chamfered top. The top face displays the name "ALSTONEFIELD," while the left-hand face indicates distances to "ALSTONEFIELD 3¾ WARSLOW 5; LEEK 13." The right-hand face shows the distance to "ASHBOURNE 6¾."
