Description

This is a milepost located approximately 1 mile northwest of Gateham Grange, dating from the early 19th century. It is made of cast iron and features raised lettering. The milepost has a triangular section with a chamfered top. The top face displays the name "ALSTONEFIELD." The left-hand face indicates distances to Warslow (2 miles) and Leek (10 miles), while the right-hand face shows distances to Alstonefield (2¼ miles) and Ashbourne (9¾ miles).
