Description

This milepost, located approximately 100 yards northeast of Gateham Grange, dates from the early 19th century. It is made of cast iron and features raised lettering. The milepost has a triangular section with a chamfered top. The top face is inscribed with "ALSTONEFIELD." The left-hand face indicates distances to Warslow (3 miles) and Leek (11 miles), while the right-hand face shows distances to Alstonefield (1¼ miles) and Ashbourne (8¾ miles).
