Description
Beresford House is a farmhouse built in the early to mid 19th century. It features coursed and squared limestone rubble with rusticated ashlar quoins and dressings. The roof is made of clay tiles with coped verges, and there are ashlar integral end stacks and a central stack. The building has two storeys and two windows, which are fitted with glazing bar sashes. The lintels are lined as voussoirs, and those on the ground floor have fluted keystones and straight dripstones. To the left, there is a recessed single-storey porch with a cambered arch leading to a six-panelled door, and the gabled west wall has a top-opening glazing bar window. There is an extension to the right that is slightly lower than the main house, along with a further gabled extension that has an integral end stack projecting from where the two elements meet. Beresford Cottage is attached to the rear of the house.
