Description
The former wash house and pig-sty, located immediately southwest of Greenside Cottage, dates from the mid-19th century. It is constructed of random rubble with a slate roof and features an ashlar integral end stack. The building is a single cell, two stories high, and consists of one bay with a split level; the pig-sty is below the wash house. There is a door on the left leading to the pig-sty, and a central fixed light glazing bar window for the wash house. Access to the wash house is through a door in the northeast gable end. Inside, the wash house retains a stone sink and a copper. This structure is included for its group value with Greenside Cottage.
