Description
Spring Cottage and Dove Cottage is a former row of houses, now comprising two homes, dating from the early 18th century with alterations from the 19th and 20th centuries. The buildings are constructed of random rubble limestone, with ashlar, rendered, and artificial stone chimneys, and feature stone slate and concrete tile roofs. They are two stories high with an attic, and there is a single-storey section with an attic at the northeast end.
The front elevation has a three-window arrangement in the main part, with all windows being three-light chamfered mullioned casements. There is a 20th-century flat-roofed porch addition that is not considered of special interest. The roof features two gabled dormers and rebuilt gable end chimneys. At the rear, Spring Cottage retains one original upper floor two-light chamfered mullioned casement, while the others appear to be later additions. There is an eaves-mounted chimney with a swept base and chamfered cap. The interior has not been inspected.
