Description
Prospect Cottage is a detached house dating from the late 17th century. It is constructed of random rubble limestone with ashlar chimneys and a concrete tile roof. The building is two storeys high. The east front features a two-window arrangement, with two 2-light windows in their original positions on the upper floor and a 3-light window on the ground floor, along with a central 2-light window that was originally a door. All windows are chamfered mullioned leaded iron casements with hoodmoulds. There is a 20th-century inserted doorway to the right, which includes a glazed gabled porch addition. The gable end chimneys have cavetto and chamfered caps. On the south end, the base of a projecting chimney stack is corbelled out at mid-height, and there are inserted mullioned casements to the left. A 20th-century two-storey rear wing is present but is not of special interest. Although altered, Prospect Cottage occupies an important position next to the churchyard and Church House.
