Description
Victoria Cottage is a detached house dating from the early 18th century. It is constructed of coursed and random rubble limestone, featuring an ashlar chimney and a concrete tile roof. The building is two stories high with an attic. The front of the cottage has a two-window arrangement, with all windows being ovolo-moulded 3-light casements that have linking hoodmoulds. The ground floor hoodmould rises over a stone lintel that once framed a central doorway, which has been altered to include a timber casement. To the left of the ground floor casement, there is a small stone shelf. A single-storey addition is located at the north end, which includes a reset oval window, and there is a 2-light attic casement with a hoodmould above the main gable end. The chimney, which has a plain cap, is situated at the south end of the building. The rear features timber casement windows. The interior has not been inspected. The cottage holds an important position on Holloway Road.
