Description
Four Ways and Nos 2 and 3, Wellesley Cottages, are a row of three houses built in the early to mid-18th century. They are constructed from coursed rubble limestone, featuring ashlar chimneys, and have roofs made of stone slate and concrete tiles. The buildings are two stories tall with an attic.
The front of the row shows that Four Ways, the larger house at the northeast end, has a two-window arrangement with 2-light chamfered mullioned casement windows, which have hoodmoulds only on the ground floor. There is a central doorway with a 20th-century porch. To the left, the remaining houses have six upper floor 2-light casements, with fewer windows on the ground floor due to the presence of two gabled single-storey additions. The row features three gabled roof dormers and three ridge-mounted chimneys, two of which have moulded caps.
At the rear, Four Ways has altered fenestration, including a 20th-century casement window in a former doorway with stone lintels. There is also a chimney gable to No 3. The interior has not been inspected.
