Description
Nos 1 and 2 Church Hill form a row of two houses dating to the late 17th century, with a later 19th-century addition to the rear of No 2. The houses are constructed of random rubble limestone, with artificial stone, concrete block and ashlar chimneys, and have stone slate and concrete tile roofs. They are two storeys with an attic.
The front elevation has a scattered fenestration pattern. A central 20th-century doorway is located in No 1. To the left of the doorway is a three-light chamfered mullioned casement window with a hoodmould, and a two-light window above. No 2 has three upper-floor two-light casement windows. A central doorway features a plank door and a gabled timber porch hood. There are three gabled roof dormers and two ridge chimneys. The east end has a prominent gable with a single window; the ground floor window is an altered casement, and the upper floor and attic windows are two-light casements with a hoodmould.
The rear of the property features a gabled wing with an ashlar chimney to No 2, alongside a parallel-roofed range extending to the east. The interior of the properties has not been inspected.
