Description

Sinegar House is a former pair of houses, now functioning as a single residence, located on Church Hill in Bisley Village. It dates from the early to mid-18th century and was partially rebuilt in the mid-19th century. The building is constructed of random rubble limestone, with rendered and concrete block chimneys. The front roof slopes are covered with stone slate, while the rear has a concrete plain tile roof.

The eastern part of the house is two stories with an attic, while the western part is two stories. The south front features a main section on the right that was rebuilt in the 19th century, showcasing a three-window arrangement. The outer windows are three-light chamfered mullioned casements, and there is a tall central upper floor window that is a mullioned and transomed casement with decorative leading and colored glass. A 20th-century stone porch with a gablet roof is present. The lower section of the rebuilding on the left has two and three-light chamfered mullioned casements.

On the east side, there is a crosswing at the end of the building, which includes a single tripartite sash window on each floor. The roof is hipped at the northeast corner, and there are two chimneys mounted on the ridge. In the southeast corner, dressed stone is inscribed with 'SENEGAR SQUARE'. The house occupies an important position at a street corner. The interior has not been inspected.
