Description

The Old Vicarage is a former row of three cottages that has been converted into a single house. It dates from the mid to late 18th century and features a two-bay core with early 19th-century extensions, consisting of one bay to the left and two bays to the right. The building has undergone significant refurbishment in the 20th century. It is constructed from coursed rubble limestone with slobbered pointing and has a thatched roof, topped with five rubble stone chimneys along the ridge.

The house is one and a half storeys high and has a total of five bays. The windows are 20th-century two-light wooden casements with external double glazing and wooden lintels, with thatch eyebrows over the upper windows. The second bay features a 20th-century six-panelled door within a 20th-century porch that has a flat roof supported by wooden posts. There is another 20th-century door to the right, and a blocked doorway in the center. A 20th-century conservatory is located at the left end. The rear of the building faces the churchyard and retains traces of the original 18th-century quoins. The rear also has irregular 19th and 20th-century wooden casements, with most upper windows blocked. Inside, there is a winder stair aligned with the central stack and a stop-chamfered spine beam in the room to the left. The building is included for its group value.
